I swear it’s like Poodle is so happy & hyped on life he has to hold his head up. I guess they were just a happy pair of awesome eight-year olds.

Charity: Water

This year for my birthday, I don’t need more stuff, but more than a billion people need water. Let’s make a difference.

Go to my birthday campaign on charity:water, & let’s give someone clean, fresh water.

Currently, I have stuff. I have stuff I never use, & I’ll be honest: I don’t need more stuff.

Some people don’t have water. They don’t worry about stuff, because they don’t have water.

This year, I don’t want stuff, people need water.

I’m turning 17 years old, and instead of asking for gifts, I’m asking for money to help give someone water. To help build freshwater wells for people in developing nations.

A billion people in the world are living without clean water – but how much are they really living? Millions contract deadly diseases from contaminated water. 45,000 people will die this week alone. The lucky ones won’t, but still walk hours each day to get dirty water to give to their families.

My birthday wish this year is not for more gifts I don’t need; it’s to give clean and safe drinking water to some of the billion living without it. I want to make my birthday matter this year.

please note: Because of charity: water’s unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to direct water projects costs, and each donation is “proved” and tracked to the village it helped when projects are complete.

But most Important

Even if you don’t donate, or can’t donate & if you do donate, remember Isaiah 41.17, The poor and homeless are desperate for water, their tongues parched and no water to be found. But I’m there to be found, I’m there for them, and I, God of Israel, will not leave them thirsty. & pray for them. Pray that they receive both water to nourish their bodies & a living water so that they’ll never thirst again.

I was under the stars, like a fish is under water.

I was under the stars, like a fish is under water.

Claire got a massive fish tank & four fish for her birthday
(her birthday was back in May, but she only got the present the other day)

Fish are awesome, especially swimming around in your house

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Albert Einstein

fish 1

Fish (fly-replete, in depth of June,
Dawdling away their wat’ry noon)
Ponder deep wisdom, dark or clear,
Each secret fishy hope or fear.
Fish say, they have their Stream and Pond;
But is there anything Beyond?

Rupert Brooke’s poem Heaven

fish 2

I think fish is nice, but then I think that rain is wet, so who am I to judge?

Douglas Adams

fish 3

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

fish 4

Fish die belly upward, and rise to the surface. It’s their way of falling.

Andre Gide

fish 5

Remember, a dead fish can float downstream, but it takes a live one to swim upstream.
