Last Saturday (180409) Mrs. P turned 40 and a surprise birthday party was held for her.
I got quite a few cool photos (very few people above the age of 15…). You can go look at them.

Last Sunday I helped out with the under threes. Our church was watching Fireproof, and the leadership wanted to allow all people in relationships to watch it. This included most of the people who normally lead all the kids activities, so our Youth Pastor enlisted us, the youth, to just have some fun with the kids and keep them entertained.
I got assigned the under threes. Normally this class is from three under, but this Sunday, they’d moved the three year olds up, so the class was small and depleted.
We had a mom with her almost-one and two year old, another mom with her one year old, and an almost three year old, Gideon.
About half way through the movie, the two moms, one after another, each left with their kids, leaving me and two other girls (Samantha and Megan) with Gideon.
The four of us were sitting around a table, just coloring, when Gideon turns around in his chair. He’d turned around so that we couldn’t quite see what he was doing, and it was clear that he turned away for this purpose. I shifted myself in my chair slightly, and lo and behold, our little three year old friend had turned himself away so he could pick his nose.
This kid has a pretty good sense of polite and impolite behavior for such a young kid, but still. You just don’t pick your nose, even when you think people can’t see.
She was young, but her expression was shockingly old.
Last Friday I went with my dear friend i.e. (Michelle in real life) to varsity.
At tuks, there are quite a few random works of art sitting around campus.
i.e. and myself were analyzing a particularly interesting one.
It is the one just after the bridge to the other side, and just before the theology and music buildings, for those of you interested.
i.e. thinks it looks like ‘a man with a rocket up his butt.’ I didn’t, and still don’t, see it (although I can see how one might see it), and i.e. was trying to show it to me.
As we stood back, staring at the abstract art, a man with a ‘nick fronas’ strode strode along the path where the art is situated. He paused for a moment to ask us, “What do you think it is?”
I said, “She thinks it looks like a man with a rocket sticking through him.”
I.e. jumped in, and explained where the man and rocket were, concluding that, “It looks like a man with a rocket up his butt!”
The guy kind of said cool or something, and continued plodding along, I assume, to his next class.
Neither i.e. or I am quite sure what he was expecting… but he got what he got.
But we’ve got a new ISP, so I will return to the life of interaction via the web.
