Psalm 136: His love never quits

At VerB, Andrew challenged everyone to memorize a chapter of the bible (at least 20 verses).
I’ve decided to take him up on that challenge.

And I know the fact that every other line is the same kind of makes it look like cheating… But I do actually really like this verse.
And it’ll be easier to start with something easier.

Psalm 136

Thank God! He deserves your thanks. His love never quits.
Thank the God of all gods,
His love never quits.

Thank the Lord of all lords.
His love never quits.

Inevitable

Inevitable by Anberlin

Do you remember when we were just kids

And cardboard boxes took us miles
from what we would miss
Schoolyard conversations taken to heart

And laughter took the place

of everything we knew

we were not

I wanna break every clock

The hands of time could never move again

We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)
For the rest of our lives
Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you’ll ever have
I wanna be your last, first kiss

Amazing how life turns out the way that istrongt does
We end up hurting the worst, the only ones we really love

I wanna break every clock
The hands of time could never move again

We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)

For the rest of our lives

Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you’ll ever have
I wanna be your last, first kiss

Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now
Is it over how hey, hey, it’s not over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you’ll ever have (that you’ll ever have)
I wanna be your last, first love (that you’ll ever have)
Till you’re lying here beside me with arms and eyes open wide

I wanna be your last, first kiss for all time

All the Memories

All The Memories by The Classic Crime:

I can’t stop killing the songs you like
You look at me with eyes
That could beat the sunrise in a contest
No question

Well, talk to all the others

And bring me back to earth

I’m thankful for your mother for what it’s worth

Oh, all the memories we had

Framed in our minds like photographs

Take a second, take a second
And make this last
Here where the future meets the past
I can never fall in love again
I can never fall in love again

I can’t stop moving cause I’ll feel dead
Give me a second and I’ll turn it into a year you won’t forget
We’ll make them read our stories
And we’ll make them eat their words

We’ll make their lives seem boring for what it’s worth

Oh, all the memories we had
Framed in our minds like photographs

Take a second, take a second

And make this last

Here where the future meets the past
I can never fall in love again
I can never fall in love again

I’ll drink your poison and say
I’m still not going away
I’ll swallow all your bombs and grenades
And love you like a tsunami wave
Wave, wave

Oh, all the memories we had

Framed in our minds like photographs
Take a second, take a second
And make this last
Here where the future meets the past

I can never fall in love again

I can never fall in love again

Oh, all the memories

Framed in our minds

Take a second, take a second

And make this last, here for a while
I can never fall in love again
I can never fall in love again
Oh, all the memories
Framed in our minds
Take a second, take a second

And make this last, here for a while

I can never fall in love again

I can never fall in love again

Again

Judged By Your… What You Put in the Sewar

From You’ll Never Look at a Dixie Cup the Same Way:

Imagine going to a job interview. You’ve got the nice, pressed suit. You’ve got the resume ready to go. You’ve got your list of references. You’re on. You’re waiting to to be interviewed by the boss when the secretary comes over and hands you a dixie cup. She says, “Sir, we’d like you to take a dump in this dixie cup. Drop a dooce. Number Two. We’re going to be evaluating all of our candidates based on what they put in this cup. Thank you.” So now, the resume doesn’t matter. The suit doesn’t matter. What you have to offer doesn’t matter. You’re not be evaluated on those things. You are, quite literally, being judged by your crap.

We, Christians, may have great stuff to offer (you know, a relationship with God, and stuff), but people aren’t going to say, look that person looks great. They’re going to say, That person’s failures and mess ups and mistakes and junk…. And either they’ll say, It’s the same as everyone elses, what do they think they have to offer? Or Wow. There’s something really different about that person’s crap.

Believing You Can Get Smarter Makes You Smarter

Apparently, your IQ is malleable.

Three social psychologists conducted a study in which some American college students were taught to think of intelligence as changeable, rather than fixed. A control group of students weren’t taught about the changeability of intelligence.

Students who were told that their IQ was mutable improved their grades.

From The American Psychology association, Believing You Can Get Smarter Makes You Smarter.

Change

If I could wake up
in a different place,

at a different time,

could I wake up

as a different

person?

Quote by Chuck Palahniuk from the book Fight Club

Someone (I’m not sure who) made this quote into a cool image.

Personality based on Blog

According to Typealyzer’s analysis of my blog, I am:

ISTP – The Mechanics
The independent and problem-solving type. They are especially attuned to the demands of the moment and are highly skilled at seeing and fixing what needs to be fixed. They generally prefer to think things out for themselves and often avoid inter-personal conflicts.

The Mechanics enjoy working together with other independent and highly skilled people and often like seek fun and action both in their work and personal life. They enjoy adventure and risk such as in driving race cars or working as policemen and firefighters.

According to Typealyzer’s analysis of my random posts, I am:

INTP – The Thinkers
The logical and analytical type. They are especially attuned to difficult creative and intellectual challenges and always look for something more complex to dig into. They are great at finding subtle connections between things and imagine far-reaching implications.
They enjoy working with complex things using a lot of concepts and imaginative models of reality. Since they are not very good at seeing and understanding the needs of other people, they might come across as arrogant, impatient and insensitive to people that need some time to understand what they are talking about.

Hmm…

Which one do you think I am?

What does your website say about you?

Nearsighted… Farsighted.

From Peanuts by Charles Shultz

Charlie Brown: Do you wear glasses because you’re farsighted or nearsighted?
Linus: Which is which?
Charlie Brown: Well, farsighted is when you can… or that nearsighted? Farsighted is when you can see things that… or is it the other way around? Maybe it’s when you … or maybe.. or maybe it’s…
Linus: I wear glasses so I can see better!
