Meet Dave, Ethel, Boris, Bill, Sam, Alice, Tim, & Trudy
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK
We went to the old Trinity University campus in Tehuacana.
Poodle and I went up early with Noah, Kara, and Jodi to help set up.

We then went to HEB in Mexia. We got dinner at a little taco stand. (Although I didn’t; they had no vegetarian options and I had leftover lunch that I ate.)
The next day, after breakfast and a quiet time, we had a team building exercise.

We net down the fire escapes again, but I got just one picture before I was knocked over.
There was lots of good discussion and teaching.
Afterwards, I played a game of Dominion with Steven, Matt, Joseph, Colin, and Cali.
The next morning we took a group photo in Texas Hall, the awesome, minorly creepy, slightly decrepit old building sometimes used to film horror movies.
And of course the excursion ended where it started — in a car.
Of course we had a chance, he’d say, and anyway, it didn’t matter if this venture failed. In his view, we were already a success, because we were doing something hard and it was something that mattered to us. You don’t measure things like that with words like “success” or “failure”, he said. Satisfaction comes from trying hard things and then going on to the next hard thing, regardless of the outcome. What mattered was whether or not you were moving in a direction you thought was right.

I saw the Ghosts Along the Brazos last Thursday. They were good. Also, the pizza at Romeos was delicious.
You see this marshmallow? You don’t have to eat it. You can wait. Here’s how.

I love the one kid who sticks the marshmallow in his mouth, and then quickly takes it out again.
